Shortly after moving to Ohio, I got involved in a spouses group and have had a blast meeting many great ladies! The group has many clubs centered around different areas of interest and imagine my excitement when I found out there was a Craft Club. Each club is organized by a volunteer and when the time came for the previous organizer to step down; I was asked if I would be willing to take over. Of course I said, “YES!” I have had too much fun organizing projects and get-togethers; and drawing out the crafty side of people. For one of our recent get-togethers, we went to a painting studio. You know the ones, you don’t need any previous training, you get to enjoy a glass of wine, and you leave with a masterpiece you painted. If you haven’t been to one, I HIGHLY recommend stepping out of your comfort zone and trying it. It is so much fun! I have been to two of these events and have both paintings around the house and I love them! They add a splash of color and I take a lot of pride in the fact that I somehow managed to paint them. Although I am a crafty person, my painting skills are minimal. I do not have any drawing skills or fine art skills to speak of. The best part about these places though, is that I don’t need them and I still go home with a great looking piece of art. Both of the painting events I attended lasted about two hours. The price included all of the materials including paint, brushes, the canvas, and so on. It also includes instructions from an instructor who walks you through the painting step-by-step allowing you to create a masterpiece that you might not have thought was possible. To find a studio near you, try googling “paint and wine (city) (state).” For our event, we went to Pinot’s Pallet which has locations throughout the US. You can look them up here. So what do you think, are you ready to give it a try? |

AuthorTo put it mildly, I LOVE crafting! The only problem is that I don't fancy just one specific type of craft, I love it all. With this in mind, I've decided to keep a running chronicle of projects and, hopefully, inspire someone else along the way. Categories
